Learn To Play Guitar – buying an Electric Guitar Amp

Having a great guitar amp might be more important than having a large guitar. Of course, both are important but you can plug a guitar, sometimes of poor quality in a great amp and a good sound but a great guitar plugged a terrible amp still does not sound so good.

There are basically four types of guitar amp and each has its strengths and weaknesses.

Amps tube – The tube amp has been for many years and is the amplifier that all others are modeled after. A tube amp uses glass tubes under vacuum in its power section and the preamp section. Because the tubes, these amps have a warm tone that feels natural and provides great sustain and power. The risk to a tube amp is the tubes wear out over time and as they wear, noise amplifier changes. tube amp also store a lot of tension and therefore require a specially trained technician to change the tubes a few years.

The Solid State – The amplifier guitar solid state has the advantage of sounding the same every time it's switched as it rests on parts that wear out to create its tone. amplifier uses transistors in its solid state preamp section rather than tubes. Although this makes the amplifier a little more reliable, the tone is generally rougher and more barren, especially on the saturated tones or lead. Amps Solid date almost always less expensive than tube amps.

Hybrid – The hybrid amplifier is a new type of amplifier that combines a preamp section tube section with a power amp solid state trying to achieve the desired tone tube. Marshall began this trend with their line Valvestate amp and line 6 has partnered with a world-class tube amp manufacturer Bogner create a modern hybrid amp. a hybrid amplifier cost naturally a little more than an amp solid state, but still cheaper than an amp of high quality tube.

Amp Modeling – These are amplifiers that have a built-in digital processor that attempts to replicate the sounds of different amplifiers guitar cabinets, rooms and microphone placement. They are very flexible and usually have built in effects and a tuner, and a hotline out for registration. Most can be switched via a controller up so that different sounds can be mounted on the fly. They are versatile amplifier that can produce different sounds and are close to sounding like tubes Ampere all the time, but many are simply not yet there.
